About
Suzanne Soo Hyun Kim is a Korean-Australian writer, director and producer based between Sydney and Seoul. Suzanne’s work holds a primary focus on experimental narrative and delves deep into the heart of the imagination, creating elevated and lyrical meditations on life. Her work spans narrative film, commercial and photography. Her ambitious work often contemplates her experience of the Korean diaspora, womanhood, and social impact filmmaking. Commercially, Suzanne is represented by Sweetshop films and has worked with brands such as Apple, Hyundai, Samsung, Ford, Genesis, Hera Beauty, The Guardian, Nike, Jordan and The Sydney Opera House. Most recently she has been featured in a special edition of Vogue Australia magazine guest-curated by Baz Luhrmann as one of the ‘Best in show - the new class of Australian Female Directors to know’. Suzanne is a writer and director on Night Bloomers, which was commissioned in 2022 by SBS and Screen Australia as part of the SBS Digital Originals initiative. The show was an official selection at SXSW, and premiered on SBS on Demand and Apple in 2023. She is currently in development of an documentary series in Seoul, and working on a slate of narrative projects in 2026.
